Brighteye’s Momentum 18 release is packed with powerful new capabilities across all interfaces.
While there are many developments, these three stand out – showing how Momentum helps companies work smarter, faster, and more efficiently.
While there are many developments, these three stand out – showing how Momentum helps companies work smarter, faster, and more efficiently.
Here are the highlights for Momentum 18:
- Service Procedures
- Inbound & Outbound Cargo
- Apache Kafka Integration
Highlight 1 – Service Procedures
In our MES base, service procedures (e.g. machine cleaning, machine setup) are now managed just as powerfully as production itself.
Service actions as powerful as production
- A fully independent entity within MES with complete automation
- Quality checks linked directly to service actions
- Tailored work instructions for operators based on the service procedure
- Integrated with the batching module: step-by-step cleaning linked to automation, enabling CIP cleanings to be executed within Momentum Supervisor
- Automatic scheduling of cleaning procedures and optimizing them when switching product variants (e.g. thorough cleaning required when moving from regular milk to organic milk, while a different cleaning cycle applies when switching from regular milk to lactose-free milk)

Highlight 2 – Inbound & Outbound Cargo
In our WMS module, operators can now receive and ship cargo faster and smarter, fully integrated into the MOMENTUM software.
Smarter cargo handling
- Smart scanning – GS1 EAN 128 fields automatically filled via scanner
- EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) & ASN (Advanced Shipping Notice) – electronic shipment notifications directly into MOMENTUM; operators see incoming data immediately in their mobile interface and can process goods faster and error-free
- Cargo checks – quality tests performed instantly on incoming and outgoing shipments
- Nested transport units – full support for nested transport units, allowing operators to consult the complete composition and contents of each unit
Highlight 3 – Apache Kafka Integration
With the standard Apache Kafka integration, Momentum can exchange real-time data with other systems – fully ready for scalable, event-driven software architecture.
Seamless system integration
- Built-in to Momentum: no custom development required
- Publish & subscribe: flexible connection to external systems via Kafka topics
- Reliable & secure: authentication and automatic retries supported
- User-friendly manager UI: easily configure which events are published
